Jim Bedwell, project designer from Stonebaths New Zealand, recently released new niche product. The 'Kauranga Pepe' under the Te Māpunapuna brand is inspired by numerous requests from Hospitals and Birth Centres for solid surface designed products. The Pepe is a wonderfully designed bench top with a soft edged baby bath moulded into it.
The Pepe is designed at 1500mm long and 550mm wide creating plenty of bench place to make the parents and baby feel safe. The basin is designed to support the baby allowing a more pleasant experience.
The solid surface has a warm smooth feel to it and is non slip in the wet. Solid surfaces are non-porous, they are easy to keep clean and help to prevent the build-up of bacteria, therefore helping to fight infection. This makes them ideal for birthing centres and maternity centres in hospitals, in addition to making them ideal for general use in sterile settings.
Jim Bedwell is excited with this product to launched in New Zealand and Australia, then to Europe and America.
